Job Description
The incumbent in this position primarily focusses on exhibit installation, lighting, and troubleshooting media systems. The Exhibits Specialist is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and ensuring the long-term care of both physical and digital exhibit elements. Key duties include configuring media equipment, fabricating mounts and supports, managing exhibit storage and inventory, and ensuring safe object display, conservation-appropriate lighting, and proper implementation of exhibit systems at the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum and other Seminole Tribe of Florida locations. Associate degree in a related field such as art, fabrication, technology, museum studies, or construction is required. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in exhibit installation, fabrication, A/V systems, theatrical scenery, or similar hands-on technical environments with prior experience configuring and troubleshooting media components, installing exhibit lighting, and performing basic exhibit maintenance is required. An equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience in exhibit work, fabrication, or media systems will be considered. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Knowledge and ability to read technical diagrams and equipment documentation is required. Ability to operate power tools, fabrication equipment, and a scissor lift. Demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to travel to Seminole Tribe of Florida locations and work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required.
