Job Description

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing academic and career advisement and outreach services to Seminole Tribe of Florida (STOF) Tribal Members across the K–12 and Higher Education continuum. This position supports prospective, current, and former students by assessing academic needs, advising on educational pathways, guiding on academic program changes, assisting with admissions and enrollment processes, monitoring academic progress, and supporting successful transitions from secondary education to post-secondary education and career preparation. The individual works collaboratively with Education Department programs, including K–12, Higher Education, Tutoring, and the Work Experience Program, as well as with external educational institutions, to support student persistence, completion, and re-engagement. Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field is required. Master’s Degree is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of experience working as an education advisor, academic counselor, or related field, and have familiarity with post-secondary institutions admissions process and requirements is required. Experience working with K–12 students, higher education students, or adult learners is preferred. Certification as a Professional Educator is preferred. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
