Job Description

The incumbent in this classification is responsible for tasks of considerable difficulty involving monitoring the work of architectural and engineering consultants, contractors, and construction inspection personnel engaged in the construction and inspection of a variety of complex utility projects. This specialization will focus on project controls and scheduling to support multiple projects and other project managers. The individual is responsible for the coordination of multiple projects simultaneously in various phases of development including planning, consultant selection, design management, selection of contractors, construction management, construction administration, inspection and warranty administration. The incumbent exercises independent judgment in the application of the principles and practices of utility planning, design and construction, related engineering knowledge and in the administration of assigned building construction projects. The Project Manager defines the project’s objectives and ensures quality control throughout its life cycle. Bachelor’s degree in Public Works Administration, Construction Management, Planning, Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration or related field is required. Minimum of four (4) years of experience successfully managing and scheduling multiple design and/or construction projects. Current Florida State General Contractor’s license or have Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to travel to all reservations and work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
