Job Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the Education Department’s Work Experience Program which offers career development opportunities for Tribal Members within the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The individual reviews applications submitted by Tribal Members under the Work Experience Program (WEP) and Student Work Experience Program (SWEP), and the Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) for further career development in the field of their choice. The incumbent assesses their educational background and skills, and prepares, facilitates and advises participants in the development of individualized career plans and skills that will allow them to meet their goals. The incumbent is also responsible for maintenance of appropriate files and records. An Associate’s degree is required. A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of training and/or supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved, will be considered. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills for business, technical, and clinical audiences is required. Proven proficiency in utilizing Microsoft software packages. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required. Valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Must be able to travel to all STOF Reservations and other locations as necessary. Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, overnight, weekends and holidays. Local, regional, national or international travel will be required, to oversee program implementation and/or to attend conferences and meetings related to the Department and/or its various programs.
