Job Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the staff assigned to the Seminole Tribe of Florida (STOF) Tribal Historic Preservation Office’s (THPO) Archaeometry Section with all aspects related to archaeological techniques and methods including Geographic Information Systems (GIS), geophysical techniques, remote sensing, THPO database management, spatial information and archaeological sciences. The individual assists the Chief Data Analyst in the successful integration and management of spatial field data within the existing THPO geodatabases; managing any field and survey equipment related to THPO and the Archaeometry section. The incumbent provides support to other THPO staff with the integration of GIS and geophysical techniques and the geographic components within cultural resource management, historic preservation and archaeological sciences. The individual uses advanced GIS skills and appropriate mapping techniques to meet the needs of the THPO.
