Job Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Transactional Accounting Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, including internal revenue transactions, collections, revenue reporting, reconciliation of the Accounts Receivable ledger and the preparation and review of time sensitive financial reports as it pertains to Accounts Receivable. The individual is responsible for performing activities related to cash application, billing, bookkeeping, and accounting functions involving a vast array of receivable items including but not limited to trade and property management. The incumbent processes invoices, adjustments, reconciliation of accounts, and maintenance of accounting records. The individual assists the Transactional Accounting Supervisor in overseeing the income collections process, issuing and distributing invoices for services rendered or goods provided, responding to billing inquiries, negotiating past due accounts, and referring delinquent accounts to collection agencies as needed. The individual exercises considerable independent judgment and initiative, and is required to perform at a high level of accuracy and efficiency to ensure overall department functionality, while adhering to accounting principles and bookkeeping practices High School Diploma or equivalent GED is required. An Associate’s degree is preferred. A minimum of one (1) year of accounts receivable experience in an office environment with knowledge related to accounts receivable methods and procedures is preferred. Knowledge of Lawson systems is preferred. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages, with basic proficiency in MS excel (formulas) is required. Demonstrate proven problem-solving and analytical experience involving a variety of functional departments is required. Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s license and be able to travel to all STOF Reservations and/or banking facilities as needed. Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
