Job Description
The incumbent in this position is responsible for the overall leadership, development, organization, management, operation, and implementation of Tribal Wide Seminole Tribe of Florida’s (STOF) Boys & Girls Clubs (BGC) program. The individual devises and maintains strategies to increase efficiency, maintain quality, and ensure continuous improvement. The incumbent directs, supervises, and evaluates staff, handles employees’ concerns and problems, counsels and disciplines staff when needed and recruits and trains staff as required. The Director provides professional and administrative assistance to management staff and other inter-Departmental staff in specified areas as related. Bachelor’s Degree in Youth Development, Education, Social Work, Business Administration or related field is required. A minimum of five (5) years of work experience in a Boys and Girls Clubs or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people; with at least three (3) years of which were in a management capacity is required. An equivalent combination of formal education/training and experience may be considered. Considerable knowledge of the mission, priority outcomes, policies and procedures of the Boys & Girls Club and their principles and practices, is required. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs. Demonstrate excellent English written and verbal skills. Must demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills required. A valid Florida Driver’s License is required. Must be able to travel to all STOF Reservations and other locations as necessary. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, overnight, weekends and holidays. Local, regional, national or international travel will be required, to oversee program implementation and/or to attend conferences and meetings related to the various programs.
